FSJ Collection at DLSU

The F. Sionil Jose Collection, Learning Commons, 12th Floor, Henry Sy Sr. Hall, De La Salle University, Manila

The F. Sionil Jose Collection was launched on July 11, 2024 at De La Salle University Learning Commons. The collection is composed of Dr. Jose’s works including manuscripts, published works, books, and articles. It also includes publications by Solidaridad Publishing House, signed copies of books by writers-friends, and 100 recommended books by Dr. Jose. The design of the space is patterned after the Solidaridad Bookstore in Ermita.

In 2016, the DLSU Libraries launched “A Dialogue with F. Sionil Jose”, a series of talks where Dr. Jose covered the following themes: ​The Art of Fiction: The Narrative, ​​​The Art of Fiction: The Narrative (Part II), Obscenity and Violence in Fiction, Symbolism and Allegory in Literature,  Literary Criticism and the Teaching of Literature, and Summing Up: Why Literature?, among others.
